Nature Lessons Video

This video was made for the exhibition at Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery 1987 by AVA- Nottingham video productions .

The idea was to try and convey how the paintings were made and their relationship between performances and paintings. Some of the sources in the work are from sketch books and prints .

Also include are photo sources from 1930 film books and other references, used in making the paintings.

The mood of the video , is fairly casual and attempts to capture the atmosphere in the South Luffenham studio, whilst making the work. The performance elements in the video were improvised , and acted as a balance to the more explanatory didactic sections.

The quality is somewhat varied , as this copy is from VHS is the only one now available

My work has changed from this period , but I feel that the video gives a flavour of the work from this time
